WHAT? WHERE? WHEN? HOW?

What on earth have i been doing?  Chasing after my adorable little daughter that looks just like her daddy.
Where have i been?  Between sanity and pulling my hair out.....
When did my days consist of all this craziness?  The minute i had Alyssa.  Life hasnt been the same since.
How do i plan to change things?  Im not ... I wouldnt trade it for the world.

Everyone tells you when your pregnant that your life will never be the same.  And you just smile and say "Oh i know" but in reality YOU HAVE NO IDEA.  People will tell you to take the last few weeks and do nothing but relax.  YOU SHOULD!! every second you get....sit on your ass and relax, because after the baby gets here, at first you will be like oh this isnt bad~getting up every two hours to feed your child, change the diaper, get all swaddled back.  but after about a week your tired, i mean so tired you cant even remember the last time your peed.  let alone drank something....eating...whats that? Everyone will give you advice about what diapers to use, breastfeed/formula, when they should do this, when you should start that, but the best advice i can give is that you have to do what you feel is right.  No one else is the mother of your child, it has to be your decision and yours alone.  You have to become confident in the decisions you make and if it doesnt turn out exactly how you planned/though it would. IT WILL BE OK. really it will.

Alyssa has already started walking....and im not saying that she takes a few steps...that was like a month ago....she is on the move people....full force.....on the move.  She finally got 2 teeth on the bottom(9months) and is full of laughter and sometimes tears....its like night and day some days....she can be crying and then all of a sudden she starts laughing....its  bizarre :) but i love that sweet girl more than words can say.

im gonna write a post on what saved my life the first few months of alyssa being here.....its gonna be a good one....and when i say it saved my life....no joke...saved!!!

BACK TO WORK :(

well its back to work for me...its been a great 9 weeks off with my doll but the time has come for reality to set in....im a working mom, as nice at it would be to stay at home with her, j & i decided it would be best for both parties involved for her to go to daycare and me to work.  She needs to socialize with other kids...get germs....most of all not be attached to me.  I think its important for all of the above.  So with that said...i started back to work yesterday. Yes i cried when i dropped her off at daycare, but not until i got in the car.

But i do have a  good friend that went by to visit her on her lunch break and Alyssa was just smiling and happy as can be. I was too excited to get the text saying she was doing great!  With that you better believe your bottom dollar that once 5:00 hit i was out the door and making my 45 minute drive home to see my little angel.  You see J picks her up becuase they close at 5:30 and seeing that i wont get there til 5:45, that just doesnt work, so J is at home with her for a good little while before i come home.  I think its great because they have their own time together and then i have mine as well!

Alyssa had her 8 week shots on friday (she's technicially 9 weeks) and i wasnt a fan...neither was she...we cried just the same amount it was terrible.  Something about having a child really has made me such a softy.

here are her stats
weight: 9.9 lbs - a little below 25 %
height 22 1/4 - 50%

she is laughing and smiling at both of us and cooing like crazy!  We love her to pieces!

the birth story

lets start with the wednesday before she was born...

i had my dr's appt and i was only at a 1.  being 39 weeks pregnant...i was quite disappointed/exhausted/and so over being pregnant.  With this all being said my dr told me that if i didnt have her by monday i would go in to be checked again and then go over to labor and delivery to be induced. Dr prescribed me to ambien so i could get some major rest and informed me to only work half days.  i was overjoyed with happiness that there was a light at the end of the tunnel. I called jeremy and my parents and told everyone that she would be here no later than tuesday!  YAY!!

so i immediately go get my ambien filled and let me tell you...that stuff is a mircale drug because i have NEVER slept soo good in my life! :)

The weekend comes and i am getting my house ready for visitors for the next week.  Here i am cleaning my house and taking Jeremy trash and as i am in the garage....my water breaks...at 1:09....i had  a moment of freakin out....and instructed J to go get me a towel...this stuff just keep coming and coming...so i decided sitting on the commode while J got everything together was the best idea.  he called my parents and i called my sister! J got the car packed and off to the hospital we go.

I only had a couple of contractions on the way to hospital.  they werent that bad then.  The hospital was 45 minutes away.  we made it to the hospital.  with a towel in between my legs the nurses obiviously knew why i was there.  so i get all checked it and settled into my room and all hooked up to the 100 things they observe.  by this time i was having contractions. they checked to see how far i had progressed and i was at a 1 and 90% efaced.

a couple of hours passed by and the contractions got stronger and stronger so the dr came in and checked me and i was at a 3 so he told me i could go ahead with my epidural.  by 5:45 i had my epidural and i was feeling much better!  those things are heaven let me tell you because contractions are no joke.

a few more hours passed and i was at an 8.5/9cm and 100%.  almost go time!

at nine i was at a 10 and it was go time!  they got me all prepped up and ready to push.  a 9:41 Alyssa arrived. and score 9/10.  She was healthy as can be and weighed 5lbs 14oz.  my little bitty girl finally arrived after 39 weeks of being pregnant.  it was surreal. and ever since its been a joy.

so here we are...

at 35 weeks...feeling huge and uncomfortable....with this little being inside of me currently putting her knee in my belly button.  I am very happy to being having this precious child of mine, but you see there is a thing that happens when your pregnant....you have ZERO immune system.....like notta....nothing!

well on April 1 i was hanging out with some friends and there was this little boy there, that just happened to get diagnosed with strep throat....not knowing this information i didnt think anything about being around him. well to my dismay....i get strep throat....well on top of strep throat i get a rash.....well apparently this is called scarlet fever!  NEVER in my life have i EVER heard of such a thing let alone experience anything quite like it.  It was by far the WORST thing i have EVER encountered.  I was off work for 1.5 weeks which I probably shouldnt have gone back when i did, but i was bored at home by myself so...i went back.  Well it has been oh lets say a month and a half later and i STILL have spots from the rash.....so here i sit.....really wanting my immune system back!

real bad....like seriously bad!   Because i apparently let something crawl up my nose and die as well cause im getting sick. So not only can i not get any sleep because i have to pee every 2 hrs but now i cant breathe through my nose....GREAT!  Just great!

But on a happy note, I am having my second baby shower this weekend and i am SUPER excited about it.  I had one last weekend and Alyssa was showered with so much love it was unbelievable. We are way blessed!  Way beyond what we deserve :)

27 weeks

Holy cow I'm almost 7 months. This is crazy talk. I can't believe it has gone by so fast. I mean it really has. I swear it was just yesterday that I found out. And now here we are 27 weeks.

Little miss still doesn't have a name but we are working on it daily. Even Jeremy is bogging his brain to find the perfect name for her :)

Other than that all is good at the Lucas household. I have my first shower in a couple of weeks. So I'll post pics then. BlogBooster-The most productive way for mobile blogging. BlogBooster is a multi-service blog editor for iPhone, Android, WebOs and your desktop

GIRL!!!!  we are beyond excited for a little princess in our household. :) Pray for Jeremy, because I have a feeling he is really gonna need it.  Im sure he is going to build her a cage and not let her out til she is 30!  I also know that she is going to have him wrapped around her pretty little finger and all she is gonna have to do is bat her eyelashes and her wish will be his command :)

Over the past two weekends, my mother and i have been making the princess her bedding.  It was ALOT of hard work but I am glad to say that it is done!

I love it! We also got to take another peek at the princess friday to make sure that she was indeed a she and this we what we got to witness......
She is smiling at us :) it really melted my heart and cant wait to see her face in 16 weeks!   hoping for more like 14.5 weeks but we will see what she decides :)
